How to add a tile for a new app to the Start screen in Windows 8.1?
Windows 8.1 is in-built with many new and advanced features. It allows its users to easily move and resize tiles, create and name groups of tiles, change the background color and pin or unpin any installed app on the Start screen.
With Windows 8.1, you can also add a tile for new application to the Start screen with just few simple steps. Here’s how you can do it:
- Download a new app
- Click on the down arrow in the lower left corner of the Start screen
- Now, on the app screen, you will see a recently installed app highlighted with the word New
- Right-click on the tile or tiles that you want to appear on your Start screen
- Now, click on the Pin option given in the right to the Start button
Once you have added a tile for new application to the Start screen, you can also make other changes to it. You can unpin the tile from the Start screen, uninstall them, resize them, turn off any live tile or can get the Start screen fully cleared.
There are many tiles which provide you with the choices of small, medium, wide, and large. With this feature of Windows 8.1, you can also enlarge the tiles that are your favorite and can shrink the tiles for apps that you hardly use.
