How to turn off search suggestions in Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 8.1 PC?
Do you find the search suggestions feature on your Internet Explorer 11 browser annoying? You can easily turn off this feature by applying a few tweaks in the settings. For the starters, the search suggestions feature prompts you keywords and phrases when you attempt to search on your search engine and helps you to refine your searches this way. In addition, it also suggests to you web addresses that you are attempting to type in the address bar.
The easy step solution to the above issue is as:
- On the ‘Start’ screen, click on the Internet Explorer tile to open it.
- When the browser opens, click on the Wrench icon at the bottom, and then click ‘View on the Desktop’ option from the menu that appears.
- On the address bar type the website address or the keyword and then select the search provider whose suggestions you want to turn off.
- Click on ‘Turn off suggestions’.
If you have multiple search providers such as Bing, Google, Yahoo! Etc installed on your Windows 8.1 PC, turning off the search suggestions in one of them wouldn’t actually hamper your work much; you will still have the feature enabled on the other search providers.
