By now it is common knowledge that the Windows 8 Consumer Preview is going to release on the 29th of February and the new operating system will probably be launched toward the end of the year.
However, what is both surprising as well as heartening is that people at Mozilla have already started working on a Firefox for the Windows 8 Metro version.
Firefox, as we know, is one of the most popular browsers along with Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, and everyone will be pleased to see it on the Windows 8 Metro.
The Mozilla team made its stand clear in its post on the Internet. It said that the Windows 8 has two application environments, viz. Classic and Metro. While Classic is very similar to the Windows 7 environment and just requires a simple evolution of the current Firefox product for Windows, the Metro is totally new and will need a new Firefox creation, it added.
