Customize the Start screen of Windows® 8
Customization is the spice of life for an operating system. You’d definitely love to have a different feel of working on an operating system after a while, isn’t it? That’s right, let us show you how customization of the Start screen is done in Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
In the earlier version of Windows 8, one could not change the color of the background on the Metro UI and users had to be satisfied with green as the default color. However, in the Consumer Preview version of Windows 8, one can change the background color.
To change the background color, you need to go to the ‘PC Settings’ page on the ‘Charms’ menu which appears on the right side corner of the screen when you hover the mouse pointer over it. Once you click the settings, you need to select the option ‘More PC Settings’ and select ‘Start screen’ where you can choose the color for the background and ‘Start’ screen from the existing color palette.
