PCWorld thinks that users are not interested in Windows 8. According to their report, only 0.11% of the computers are currently running on Windows 8. Just 11 machines out of every 10,000 machines are being run on Windows 8.
If you want to compare the popularity of Window 8 to that of Windows 7’s, Windows 7 had 0.26% share in the market when it was in the same phase as Windows 8. Both the versions of the operating systems were made available for download to users for considerable amount of time before their release.
Windows 8, which is conveniently suitable for touch-based devices, could be one of the reasons why not many people are currently using the Consumer Preview version of the operating system. Windows 7 had no major requirements, while Windows 8 would work a little better on touch-based devices. To know more about this, read the complete story here.
