GameMaker: Studio will offer support for Windows 8
Lately Yo Yo Games announced that its cross-platform games development tool, GameMaker: Studio, will add support for the upcoming Windows 8 operating system and Windows Phone 8.
GameMaker: Studio enables games developers to make game titles in a single code base. It further exports them to run on multiple platforms, including Facebook, HTML 5, iOS, Android, OS X, and Windows.
“We are thrilled to be working closely with Microsoft to launch GameMaker: Studio for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8,” said Sandy Duncan, chief executive officer at YoYo Games. “The beauty with GameMaker: Studio is that it’s extremely easy for developers who have already or are currently developing with our environment to have Windows Style UI games ready for publishing on Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 in a short amount of time.”
GameMaker: Studio for Windows 8 will be available for developers even before the official launch of the operating system, while on the other hand, GameMaker: Studio for Windows Phone 8 will launch later this year.
