HP unveils new range of Windows 8-based laptops and business PCs
Hewlett-Packard (HP) has announced the release of its new range of Windows 8 -powered computing devices. This new lineup includes Windows 8 laptops and business PCs that are scheduled to be made available alongside Microsoft’s new operating system on October 26.
Salient features of the new Windows 8-based HP computers
HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 and 15 models: The HP Sleekbook 14 and 15 models will feature a 14-inch and 15.6-inch display, respectively. Other features include web cam, ports for HDMI, USB 3.0 and 2.0, up to one terabyte of storage, and an optional NVIDIA discrete graphics card. The Sleekbook 14 lineup will feature AMD accelerated processors, whereas the 15.6-inch version will run on Ivy Bridge-based Intel Core processors. The price of HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 starts at $500 and for Sleekbook 15 the price starts at $600. Both the models are expected to start shipping from October 26.
HP Envy Phoenix h9: This is a desktop PC that features three tool-less hard disk bays, Intel Core Ivy Bridge processors, and liquid cooling systems. Pricing for the Envy Phoenix h9 starts at $900. The desktop PC is expected to be available on October 26.
HP Compaq Pro 6305: Another desktop PC that will feature A10, A8, A6, or A4 AMD Accelerated Processing Units (APUs) for better graphics processing. The pricing of HP Compaq Pro 6350 will start at $539. HP will start shipping this desktop PC pre-loaded with Windows 7 from October 8. If you want to upgrade to Windows 8 later on, do not forget to grab your $15 Windows 8 upgrade.
HP Envy m4 notebook: The notebook that is expected to roll out on October 26 will feature a 14-inch display, Ivy Bridge Intel Core processor, Webcam, and Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) to wirelessly stream content to an HDTV. The pricing of HP Envy m4 will start at $900.
