Logitech unveils Illuminated Bluetooth Keyboard K810 for Windows 8By Nidhi ,Tuesday, October 16th, 2012
Peripheral device maker Logitech has announced the launch of its latest keyboard for Windows 8, the Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810. The keyboard has the capability to connect to as many as three devices simultaneously. If the user wants to switch among the three devices, he just has to press a button.
The availability of Bluetooth connectivity and Windows 8 Charm buttons on the Logitech Keyboard K810 make it ready to use with Microsoft Surface tablets, as well as on other Android and iOS-based devices. Similar to the Wedge Mobile Keyboard, the Windows 8 specific keyboard launched by Microsoft recently, the Logitech K810 too is designed keeping in mind both portability and user-friendliness with Windows 8.
The layout of Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810 is designed specifically for Windows 8; it includes the standard Windows key and an app-switching function key. The app-switching key enables users to scroll through open apps with ease. The keyboard also features an ambient sensor to properly adjust keyboard illumination as well as proximity detection that activates the keyboard lights when the user’s hands approach the keys.
The Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810 is USB-rechargeable. Logitech claims up to ten days of battery life on a full charge. The keyboard is also equipped with an on/off switch and a battery life indicator to help the users conserve and manage power.
Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810 is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8 (or Windows RT), iOS 4.0 or later, and Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) or later. Featuring a brushed aluminum body, the Logitech keyboard is scheduled to ship in October at a suggested retail price of US$ 100. You can also pre-order it from Logitech.
