Making developers adapt to Metro interface
For people who are developing apps for Windows 8, Microsoft is sending just one message - adapt to the Metro interface. Microsoft, after a long time is trying to change the interface of its operating system and by building an ecosystem around it, the firm wants to make things a little easier for the users.
Microsoft has received flak from a lot of circles lately. Most of the people do not like the change in the interface and find it tough to get adjusted to it. With these changes, Microsoft has already irked loyalists by removing the ‘Start’ button.
Browsers are being currently developed by Google, Mozilla, and Apple for Windows 8 as we speak and there are already rumors that Microsoft may reject them. If this is going to happen, developers might lose interest in developing apps in future.
Global design for the apps for Windows 8 looks like a great idea, but will the whole market adapt to it quickly, or is Microsoft taking a big risk here? Let’s wait and watch.
