Microsoft has to spend a lot of money for the apps. Apps, as we talked about sometime back, are the reason for iPhone and Android to be such a huge hit. Apps make life easier for people. If Windows 8 has to succeed, Microsoft has to close the gap between the apps of iPhone and Android.

Microsoft is investing close to $600,000 for Windows apps. This number has not been officially confirmed by Microsoft. They have been reported by New York Times. Microsoft has been giving out a few tools to developers for free it seems.

Windows Store has close to 80,000 apps now. However, that number is not close to the 450,000 apps of Android and 600,000 apps of iPhone. By investing at the right time [before the release of Windows 8] Microsoft is doing the right thing. To know more about this, read the complete story here.
