Microsoft sending out How-to mails to Windows 8 users
Microsoft Corporation is trying to help the users of its new operating system Windows 8 by sending out e-mails giving how-to guidance and tips and know Windows 8 a little better. Those users who set up a new Windows 8 PC or tablet PC and connect it with their Microsoft account will receive two separate e-mails from the company.
The first e-mail, having “Getting Started with Windows” in the subject line explains functioning of the Windows 8 Start screen with a brief description on Live Tiles. Another section of the e-mail displays and explains the different charms in the Windows 8 Charms bar. And two other sections tell the users in on how to switch between or view multiple Windows 8 apps. Each section of the mail comes with ‘Learn more’ or ‘Discover more’ links that the users can click on to get detailed information and even watch a how-to video showing the given feature on Microsoft’s official website.
The second e-mail is more about customizing your Windows 8 experience. Titles “Personalize your Windows” the mail explains how users can customize Start screen, work with built-in apps, download new apps from the Windows store, and create a picture password.
If you wish, you can bypass the e-mails. However, if you want to know about the new operating system then you would find the e-mails quite helpful.
