Microsoft unveils improved version of Windows 8 Personalization Gallery
After the launch of Windows 8 operating system on October 26, Microsoft Corporation has unveiled its new and improved version of Personalization Gallery for Windows 8. The software giant has given a Windows 8-inspired update to the Personalization Gallery.
The improvements made by Microsoft in the Windows Personalization Gallery include larger thumbnail images and more information about each desktop theme on the main themes page. In addition to this, the gallery now allows the users to see the total number of images each theme contains, and a good-size preview image and window color, without visiting the theme’s details page. Not only this, Microsoft has also made navigating to the details page much easier. A single click or tap on the image is enough to go to the image’s details page. The details page of Windows 8 themes gives information about the elements it changes, such as colors or sounds. To download the entire theme, the user has to either click or tap on the “Download theme” option. Another improvement to the theme details pages is that some background images now carry captions.
The Personalization Gallery can also be filtered to view themes only for Windows 7 or Windows 8/RT. However, keep in mind that the Windows 7 themes are compatible with Windows 8, whereas the Windows 8 themes only work with the newest operating system.
