Skip Windows® 8 start screen with Thinix RetroUI™
The October 26 launch date of Microsoft’s upcoming operating system Windows 8 is quickly approaching. Most of us would definitely like to see our desktops or laptops powered by Windows 8. However, some of us would not be interested in keeping the Windows 8 User Interface and would like to continue with the classic Windows desktop. App making company Thinix has made it possible to do so by launching a Windows 8 application called RetroUI.
The RetroUI app would allow Windows 8 users to bypass the Windows 8 UI completely and be welcomed directly by the classic Windows desktop. The RetroUI app doesn’t interfere with any of Windows 8 security settings, and even allows the user to permanently lock-out or disable a trio of Windows 8 features: the Charms Bar, hot corners, and Task Switcher. The app even permits the user to switch back to Windows 8 style, if he wishes to do so at any given point in time.
According to Thinix, the RetroUI app is spyware and adware free, and easy to install and configure. The app is also enterprise friendly, as it can restrict office workers to the classic Windows desktop and eliminate the complexity of Windows 8 new UI. This would allow corporations to migrate to Windows 8 quickly while maintaining the productivity of employees who are not computer savvy.
The 14-day fully functional trial version of RetroUI is available free for download. If the user wants to continue further, he has to pay $4.95 for three PCs. Business users can purchase the RetroUI Pro at $4.95 for single PC or by paying a bulk license fee.
