Vendors concerned about Windows 8By Sashank Nandury ,Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012
Looks like it might not be the savior of the personal computers. Vendors are showing some concern over Windows 8. A decent number of vendors think that Windows 8 is going to increase the cost of the hardware that will be sold in future.
They think users will not be happy with the increase in prices. Ultrabooks and touch-centric devices are only going to increase the prices of the computers. Apparently, the first generation of Intel’s Ultrabook has not even managed to muster enough interest from the vendors.
Vendors say that users will not be ready and willing to buy Ultrabook if Intel does not drop its prices by considerable amount. However, the market researches and experts think that Ultrabooks coupled with Windows 8 could successfully revive the sales of the personal computers, which has been on the decline.
