Windows 8 is going to release toward the end of the current year. Hence, it is but obvious that the plans of all the major computer manufacturers like Acer, Lenovo, HP, etc., about manufacturing PCs that will run on the new operating system have been talked about. However, the latest report in DigiTimes about the decision of ViewSonic to launch a Windows 8 tablet in the second quarter of the year 2012 has taken everyone by surprise.
Analysts are predicting that the Windows 8 tablet released by ViewSonic will come equipped with the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. As the Beta version will cost nothing to the company, they can offer some of the benefits of the new operating system to their customers at a much cheaper rate. However, one must not forget here that the Consumer Preview is a trial version that the consumers will not able to resell.
This latest piece of news may turn out to be a gimmick. Or can we start expecting Windows 8 tablets to sell like hot cakes?
