It was just a few days ago that DigiTimes, an Asia-based publication, made a claim that ViewSonic would launch Windows 8 tablets in the second quarter of the year 2012. This piece of news had not even sunk in before it is now being refuted.
DigiTimes still holds the same opinion that "ViewSonic plans to launch Windows 8-based tablet PCs in the Taiwan market in the second quarter of 2012 at the earliest."
However, a spokesperson from ViewSonic had something else to say. He remarked, "ViewSonic expects Windows 8 in the market the second half of 2012, not the second quarter, and the company is working on a Windows 8 tablet solution to hit the market in the same timeframe."
So, we see that it isn't wise to expect a premature release of the new Windows 8. The excitement caused by the news about the launch of ViewSonic tablets by June end is now soon going to fizzle out.
