It seems Hewlett Packard, which made an unsuccessful foray into the tablet market with the launch of the HP TouchPad, is now planning to make a comeback through the new Windows 8-based tablet.
There was hardly anything wrong with the hardware of the Touchpad. It was just that people did not find the Web OS interesting. If rumors are anything to go by, experts at HP are trying to test the preview edition of Microsoft's Windows 8 on their hardware device. Don't be surprised if the arrival of Windows 8 is accompanied or superseded by the return of HP TouchPad.
Although the TouchPad failed to set the tablet market ablaze, it did generate a lot of buzz. Its initial release met with abject failure and after a few months, HP had to dispose of all the stock with little or no gain. However, the company did not become totally pessimistic and introduced another batch later.
Who knows, the new Windows 8 may just revive the HP TouchPad's fortunes.
