Windows 8 will not support DVD

Microsoft on their official blog has announced that Windows 8 will not support DVD. There will not be any Media Center in Windows 8 too. This might be a disappointment to users, as they would be required to pay more if they need Media Center on their copy of Windows 8.
The justification for not supporting DVD was also given on the blog post. Microsoft has said that that format is not being used by many users on computers. New formats like ASF and MP4 are being used and hence have been preferred over the good old DVD.
DVDs will work only in one edition of Windows 8, which is Windows 8 pro. Apparently, there are some license related issues and that, is one of the reasons why DVD support is not included in all the editions of Windows 8.
Let us see how this decision will make users react. To know more about this, read the complete story here.
