In Britain, the sales of Windows Phone have crossed the sales of Symbian phones. Nokia’s Symbian is not being focused on entirely by the Finnish firm and they are partnering with Microsoft in coming up with a new range of Windows Phones.
Considering the fact that there are not many phones as of now that run on Windows Phone and Symbian being in the market for a long time, this is great news for Microsoft. Britain is considered an indicator in European market, which means Microsoft has made nice progress in the European market.
The market in Europe is however still dominated by Android and the next spot is occupied by Apple. Windows Phones are expected to do a lot better when Windows Phone 8 would be released finally.
However, in the US market the share of Windows Phone decreased. Android and Apple have been playing this game for a while now. Windows Phone would need more time and better handsets to regain considerable share in US market.
